The unveiling of Shatrughan Sinha’s biography (penned by senior journalist Bharti Pradhan) in Mumbai, saw a big turnout on Friday evening. The veteran actor’s industry friends — like Amitabh Bachchan, Subhash Ghai et al — were present to show their support.

Sinha’s daughter Sonakshi was also a part of the event, and read a few paragraphs from one of the chapters in the book. But she baulked at mentioning which was her favourite chapter from the book. “I am too scared to read the book to the end,” Sonakshi confessed. “There are certain things in a parent’s life that a child should not know. So I am treading very carefully. I have read a few interesting chapters at the beginning of the book, which touch upon his younger days, his childhood, and certain things that you miss out on during conversations and which we just didn’t know about. But now I am holding back from reading any further!”

Shatrughan was then promptly asked if he, indeed, had mentioned any incidents that would be uncomfortable for his children to read about — the reference clearly was to the rumoured relationship he had with actress Reena Roy. Sinha chose to answer the question very seriously, saying, “About love affairs, the things which you see and feel, they are our experiences of life...Taking into consideration the dignity of women, my upbringing and family values, the feelings of my wife, daughter and sons, it was my responsibility to not say anything about anyone which could cause hurt.”

Those who have read the book have told us that Sinha has mentioned Reena Roy in one of the chapters, and has shared some details about his interactions with her.
