After Parineeti Chopra, Sonakshi Sinha has bowed out of Aneez Bazmee’s Mubaraka. Previously, there were speculations about who the lead will be in the Arjun Kapoor starrer. Even as Parineeti announced that she wasn’t signed up for the film, Dabangg actress Sonakshi’s name started doing the rounds. Soon, it was reported that the actress decided to give the project a skip because of her not-so-good equation with Tevar co-star Arjun. The two were said to be dating while working together in Tevar but parted ways after the film released.

Putting rumours to rest, Sonakshi cited professional reasons for opting out of Mubaraka. Speaking at an event, she said, “I don’t think it’s right to speak about the film that I was offered and not taking up. It was a matter between the producer and me. It was a professional decision to not to do the film.”

It was also speculated that the actress declined the film because she didn’t like the role offered to her. However, Sonakshi shot down the rumour too. She said, “People have a habit of cooking up stuff (stories). But I don’t think I need to clarify things to anyone.”

Meanwhile, names such as Diana Penty and Athiya Shetty for the film’s lead role have also been doing rounds, but the makers are yet to finalise an actress for Mubaraka. The film will also see Arjun sharing screen space with his uncle Anil, where the two will play uncle and nephew in reel life too.
