When Shah Rukh Khan decided to make a quick shopping trip for a toy for his little son AbRam, little did he know that he and his tot would soon be surrounded by a sea of frenzied fans.
SRK, who is currently shooting in Bhuj for Raees, stepped into a toy store with AbRam. The father-son duo shopped peacefully in the store, after the staff downed the shutters to protect their celebrity visitors’ privacy.
But fans somehow got wind of SRK’s presence at the store and soon a mob grew outside. As the gathered crowd became restive for a glimpse of the star, SRK himself dashed out of the store with AbRam cuddled protectively in his arms, and was bundled off into his waiting car.
This isn’t the first time that SRK has been mobbed in Bhuj, although his previous experience was not an encounter with fans, but rather, with detractors. Some members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad protested against the shoot of Raees, in light of SRK’s remarks about “intolerance” in an earlier interview. They had presented a memorandum to district officials in Bhuj, demanding that permission for the shoot be withdrawn. They shouted slogans against SRK and burnt his posters. The situation, however, was brought under control.
Producer Ritesh Sidhwani posted on social media after the incident, “No disruption on Raees set in Bhuj. Shooting on schedule, with full cooperation from the government and police force.”
