Sharman Joshi, known for his light-hearted roles, is back — this time in the erotic thriller Hate Story 3. The actor, who has been missing from the big screen for a while, confesses that he was bored of his good boy roles. “In the past I was not very keen on the erotic thriller genre because I was waiting for the right movie to come my way. With this film, there was no awkward or cheap moment. And doing a singing-dancing role was a good change... I was bored of the strong, character-riven roles that I’ve done in the past. This film is more commercial and that’s good in a way,” Sharman told us when we caught up with his for a chat.
So has he seen the earlier Hate Story movies And those films revolved around the actresses. “No, I’ve not seen the earlier two Hate Stories and in any case, our movie stands on its own, it’s not connected to the earlier ones,” Sharman replies. “In this film in fact, the story revolves more around the two heroes, while the women too have good footage.”
The recent song from the film featuring Zarine Khan and Sharman was quite a surprise for fans, with there being some intimate scenes between the duo. Says Sharman of the shoot, “We approached the scenes just like any other scenes. Zarine is very professional and so am I. In fact the reactions from fans, friends and family has been overwhelming. After a long time, I’m in the six pack mode, all dressed up!”
Quizzed about the other projects he had signed, Sharman tells us, “I have 1920 London, that will release early next year. That’s a supernatural thriller. Again something new for me.”
