Udta Punjab delay will benefit Housefull 3: Akshay Kumar

At a press conference to celebrate the success of Housefull 3, Akshay Kumar made a tounge-in-cheek comment when asked about the Udta Punjab controversy. “Udta Punjab’s delay will benefit our film (Housefull 3),” he said in jest.

Actor Chunky Pandey on his part, stood up for his godfather and CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani, who has been drawing much flak for his censorship ideology.

He said, “Pahlajji is my godfather in the film industry; he gave me birth in the film industry. I’m very proud of him.” Chunky’s first film Aag Hi Aag in fact, was made by Pahlaj.

When asked about the much-in-news Udta Punjab controversy, Chunky said, “I haven’t seen the film, but udte toh tote hain, Punjab kaha se udta hai. (It’s the parrots that fly, not Punjab). But I don’t know; I can’t tell anything about him.”
