Who will star in SRK biopic his lookalike

There’s a Bengali biopic being made on Shah Rukh Khan and starring in the lead role — is SRK’s lookalike. Shahnawaz Khan, who will portray SRK’s journey in the film, is a Kolkata-based entrepreneur who makes it a point to visit Mumbai every year, on King Khan’s birthday, just to wish his matinee idol.

Shahnawaz, who is currently on his way to Mumbai, tells us that while he’s been making this annual visit for 14 years now, it is only over the past five years that he has had a chance to meet SRK in person. “I get in touch with his team before coming and then they coordinate the meeting. I meet him post-midnight for a few minutes where I wish him, take his autograph, click a picture with him and he gives me his blessings. His staff is really nice — it’s because of them that I get to meet SRK,” says Shahnawaz, who makes it a point to sport the look that SRK gets for each new film. Currently, it’s all about Dilwale.

As for the biopic on SRK, Shahnawaz tells us that it’s helmed by a debutant director, Nusrat Sheikh, and that the dubbing and editing is still to be completed. The film may release early next year. “It’s based on Shah Rukh’s journey so far,” Shahnawaz says, adding, “But it doesn’t really focus on his personal life.”
