Irrfan Khan is gearing up for his next Madaari, a film inspired by a true event that took place during the construction of an overhead metro bridge on the Andheri-Kurla road in suburban Mumbai. The actor, who plays a common man in the film, has been approaching politicians to interview them as part of the movie’s promotions. He recently interviewed former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and on Saturday, sent Twitter requests to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for the same.

He wrote, “Desh ka Ek Aam nagrik hoon. Aapse milke kuch sawaal pochnay the. (I am an ordinary citizen of the country. I wish to meet you and ask a few questions.) Can I meet you ” Kejriwal responded within a few hours of the request and agreed to meet the actor at his office on Tuesday at 11 am.

Rahul tweeted that he was happy to meet Irrfan and that he should send his number through a direct message on Twitter.

Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) however, responded saying the PM is busy with the upcoming session of Parliament from Monday and requested him to send in a letter.
