America not keen on books
The result was hilarious and highly telling, as the people couldn't even name a single book.
Last Thursday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! shows that some Americans can’t even name a single book. Jimmy Kimmel sent one of his crew members on the street to ask people to just name one book. The result was hilarious and highly telling, as the people couldn’t even name a single book. Confused between the names of books and movies, people rattled off random names as is visible in the video released by Jimmy Kimmel. There were even a librarian or two amongst the crowd but they also failed to name a single book.
It could be argued that if one is caught unawares on the street and asked a question one could blank out, but in this video no one could name a single book even after thinking for a while. According to Pew Research, the average American adult reads 12 books a year and the typical American adult reads only four and one quarter of adults won’t even read a single book throughout the year. The other sad part is that they couldn’t even name a holy book. Books play an important role in the development of the brain in a normal manner.
