PUNE: Tata Motors, India’s biggest automaker by revenues, on Monday reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 4,441 crore for the September quarter against the loss of Rs 314 crore reported in the same quarter last year. It had reported a loss of Rs 4,451 crore in the June quarter.

The Mumbai-based company's revenue from operations rose 14 per cent to Rs 61,379 crore against Rs 53,530 crore a year ago.

Tata Motors said India operations showed significant improvement in the second quarter as compared to a year ago. However, the supply chain issues and commodity inflation impacted the margins.

The India business revenues were up 91 per cent to Rs 18.4K crore and pre-tax loss before exceptional items came in at Rs 819 crore compared to a loss of Rs 1,166 crore a year ago.

But the firm’s performance took a hit from lower volumes at Jaguar Land Rover.
