Ford cuts prices of EcoSport SUVs

PUNE: The struggling American auto giant Ford has introduced a new variant called the Thunder edition to its EcoSport compact SUV line up to boost sales in the fiercely competitive SUV market in the country.
With the starting price of Rs 7.69 lakh for the petrol version and Rs 8.19 lakh at Delhi showroom for the diesel version, Ford EcoSport competes with newly launched Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and Maruti Brezza.
Interestingly, Ford India has also revised prices of the EcoSport range, lowering its prices now by about Rs 14,000-Rs 57,000, depending on the variant.
While the petrol variants of Ford EcoSport costs between Rs 7.69 lakh and Rs 10.83 lakh, its rivals Hyundai Venue is priced in the Rs 6.50 lakh - Rs 10.60 lakh range, Mahindra XUV300 Rs 7.90 lakh - Rs 11.64 lakh and Tata Nexon Rs 6.49 lakh - Rs 9.35 lakh bracket. The diesel variants of Ford EcoSport is priced between Rs 8.19 lakh - Rs 11.33 lakh while its competitor Hyundai Venu costs Rs 7.75 lakh - Rs 10.84 lakh, Mahindra XUV Rs 8.49 lakh - Rs 12.14 lakh, Tata Nexon Rs 7.49 lakh - Rs 10.20 lakh and Maruti Brezza Rs 7.68 lakh - 10.65 lakh range.
