BMW launches Z4 Roadster at Rs 64.90 lakh
Both sDrive20i and M40i cars accelerate 0-100kph in just 6.6 seconds and 4.5 seconds respectively, the company claimed.
Pune: BMW, India's second biggest German luxury car maker, on Monday launched the much-awaited, all-new BMW Z4 Roadster convertible in two variants - sDrive20i M Sport and range-topping M40i to take on archrival market leader Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Jaguar Land Rover, Volvo and Lexus.
Priced at Rs 64.90 lakh to Rs 78.90 lakh for BMW Z4 sDrive20i M Sport and M40i respectively at pan India showroom, these cars directly compete with the Porsche 718 Boxster, which is priced higher at Rs 89.95 lakh on the Indian roads.
The imported BMW Z4 M40i is powered by a 3.0-litre, inline six-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine that produces 340hp and 500Nm of peak torque, while the Z4 sDrive20i M Sport has a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine tuned to produce 197hp and 320Nm of torque.
Both motors come with an 8-speed automatic gearbox that powers the rear wheels.
