Check out Tata Nexon's variant-wise features

Tata’s debut sub-4m SUV offering comes with all the bells and whistles this segment warrants with several segment-first features as well. While official pre-bookings are underway, the Nexon is set to go on sale on September 21, 2017. The Tata Nexon will be offered in four trim levels - XE. XM, XT, and XZ+. Fancy buying one? Let’s go through one variant at a time, and figure out which suits you the best!

Tata Nexon XE

The most bare bones variant of the Nexon packs in nothing more than the essentials. So, it gets basic features such as manual air-conditioning, front two power windows and fabric upholstery.

A big miss in our books is the lack of a music system. It also misses out on a few needs such as remote central locking a day/night rearview mirror. 

Tata Nexon XM 

If you absolutely want a Nexon and are on a tight budget, the XM packs in the basics plus a little extra. On the outside, it will not look any different from the base-spec XE save for dual-tone wheel covers and a slightly different antenna. On the inside, it adds a music system paired with four speakers, and steering-mounted audio controls.

Tata Nexon XT 

Here’s where things start to get a bit exciting. The feel-good features start trickling in from this variant onwards. The XT variant can be differentiated from the lower ones by spotting the shark-fin antenna, body-coloured door handles and roof-rails.

Tata Nexon XZ+ 

The top-spec version is the one we’ve been seeing in pictures all along. It packs in quite a lot of kit compared to the XZ, and we’re expecting it to command a substantial premium as well. Visually, the XZ+ can be easily distinguished by its projector headlamps with daytime running lamps and 16-inch alloy wheels. It’s the only variant to feature a two-tone paint-job from the factory as well. On the inside, the most noticeable change, of course, is the 6.5-inch touchscreen that sits on the dash. It supports Android Auto, while Apple CarPlay is expected to be rolled out soon. It also gets the stellar eight-speaker audio setup by Harman.

Sources indicate that the Nexon is due for a launch on September 21. Bookings will officially begin on September 11. That said, most Tata dealers are accepting bookings for the Nexon already. We’re expecting Tata to price the Nexon quite aggressively, undercutting the competition such as the Maruti Brezza and the Ford EcoSport. That should mean a price range of Rs 6.5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
