TVS launches Jupiter Classic Edition
Jupiter gets a makeover in the form of the new TVS Jupiter Classic, priced at Rs 55,266 (ex-showroom, Delhi)
TVS has added another variant to its humble Jupiter range in the form of the Jupiter Classic Edition. Priced at Rs 55,266 (ex-showroom, Delhi), it's now on sale across the country. The entry-level variant of the Jupiter is priced at Rs 49,766 whereas the previous top-end variant, Jupiter ZX costs Rs 54,366 (both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi). The Classic edition now commands the most expensive tag in the Jupiter's range. This variant, as the name says, offers retro additions such as the windshield, chrome mirrors, dual tone seats, chrome finished bar ends, silver oak finished panels, new graphics and backrest. Distinguishing it from the rest of Jupiter's fleet is the sunlit ivory shade, which takes you back to the black and white era.
Commenting on this launch, Aniruddha Haldar, Vice President (marketing) – Commuter Motorcycles, Scooters & Corporate Brand, TVS Motor Company, said, “Timelessness is the true hall mark of a CLASSIC. Unchanging and yet always contemporary that’s how we have always seen our offering of TVS Jupiter to our consumers. And continuing its promise of ZYADA KA FAYDA, we celebrate timeless value in celebrating CLASSIC, the all new TVS Jupiter Classic Edition. Its unique features cover style, practicality, and value, like the pillion back rest or the stylish windshield. Millions of consumers have and continue to repose their faith in TVS Jupiter; this gives us great confidence."
Powering the new scooter is the same 109.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that does duty on the standard version. The air-cooled motor delivers 8PS of peak power at 7500rpm and 8.4Nm of torque at 5500rpm, which is on par for its class. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic front forks and monoshock unit at the back. Disc brake comes as standard on the front wheel, while the rear wheel is anchored by a drum brake unit. USB charger is standard along with other features like external fuel filler cap, reserve light, power and eco mode indicator and pass light switch as seen on the standard Jupiter. The new TVS Jupiter Classic will compete against the stylish Yamaha Fascino which retails for Rs 54,593 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The TVS Jupiter, in our opinion, is among the best 110cc scooters on sale and in the new Classic variant, it gets an added dash of style.
