Bajaj has launched the 2018 Pulsar 150 in India at Rs 78,016 (ex-showroom Delhi), Rs 4,380 more than the standard variant. For the extra cost, the Pulsar 150 gets a rear disc brake, new colours and some subtle design changes.
So, what's new? Apart from the rear disc setup, the updated Bajaj Pulsar 150 now comes with fatter 37mm front forks from the Pulsar 180, split seats, split grab rails, a longer wheelbase and a fatter 120/80-17 section rear tyre. According to the company, the new Pulsar 150 comes with major improvements in noise and vibrations, thanks to optimisations in the engine and the chassis.
Commenting on the introduction of the new variant, Eric Vas, President, Motorcycle Business, Bajaj Auto, said, “Pulsar 150 is India’s largest selling sports motorcycle in the category, it has always been synonymous to sportiness and masculine charm. While retaining the core, the new twin disc Pulsar 150 will offer a contemporary option to motorcycle enthusiasts. The new Pulsar 150 with rear disc is targeted at modern youth who gets comfort in performance & mileage of bike but is looking for a sportier option.”
Powering the motorcycle is the same DTS-i 149.5cc engine, which makes 14PS of power and 13.4Nm of torque. Bajaj is also offering three new colour options - Blue Black, Black Red and Black Chrome, exclusively on the rear disc brake model.
The Bajaj Pulsar 150 has so far dominated the 150cc motorcycle segment. And with the new updates, we expect the trend to continue. At its price point, the Honda CB Unicorn 160 and the Apache RTR 160 will be its prime rivals.
