Avan Motors launches e-scooter

A government subsidy of Rs 22,000 is provided on gearless electric scooter.

PUNE: Avan Motors, an electric scooter startup, on Friday introduced its new scooter model called Trend E priced at Rs 56,900 and Rs 81,269 at Delhi showroom.

A government subsidy of Rs 22,000 is provided on gearless electric scooter.

The Trend E is the third latest addition to its Xero series of electric scooters and it is powered by a lithium-ion battery and boasts a top speed of 45 km/h.

While the new electric scooter has a range of 60 km with single battery and 110 km with double battery, the battery can be fully charged in 2 to 4 hours, the new brand claimed.

The Trend E with single-battery is priced at Rs 56,900 while the double-battery version is tagged at Rs 81,269, the Pune-headquartered company said.

Bookings have been opened from Friday for Rs 1,100, it added.

“We have worked extensively to create the Trend E scooter as a vehicle that is suitable for Indian roads,” Pankaj Tiwari, Business Development Head at Avan Motors, said. He said the FAME-2 scheme, with a Rs 10,000 crore allocation, has come as a major and a much-needed boost to the EV industry.
