Datsun Introduces 5-Year maintenance plan for redi-GO
Datsun cars may have the same level of reliability, but getting a customer to acknowledge it is a big task in itself.
Getting a car buyer to trust the reliability of an automaker is probably the best thing for the carmaker. Toyota and Maruti Suzuki are known for this as their vehicles are sturdy and reliable. Datsun cars may have the same level of reliability, but getting a customer to acknowledge it is a big task in itself. However, to promote the reliability of their cars, Datsun has now introduced service plans for the redi-GO which covers all the costs of service, maintenance and labour for up to 5 years/50,000km.
Pricing for the plans is as follows:
- Rs 15,500 for 3 years/30,000km
- Rs 21,500 for 4 years/40,000km
- Rs 32,000 for 5 years/50,000km
The Care plan gives owners an unparalleled peace of mind during their ownership, ridding them of worries relating to vehicle breakdown. The one-time fee includes:
- Roadside assistance
- Extended warranty
- Scheduled services including parts and labour costs
- Taxes on service and parts’ costs
- Yearly wiper blade replacement
- One-time clutch and brake overhaul
- Wheel alignment at every service
- Car wash
- Interior cleaning
Other advantages of having the care package include:
- Higher resale value
- Peace of mind for up to five years
- Security from ever-changing parts and service costs
The redi-GO's attractive styling and aggressive price tag gave the Datsun brand good traction among buyers. Neither the Go nor the Go+ had managed to draw as many buyers into the Nissan's sister company's showroom. Datsun, too, has been able to keep the car fresh by frequently launching cosmetically enhanced trims of the car. It has helped the carmaker consistently dispatch between 2,000 and 3,000 units every month.
The redi-GO shares a lot with the Renault Kwid including the platform and powertrain, and its 800cc 3-cylinder engine makes 54PS of power and 72Nm of torque. The engine is coupled with a 5-speed gearbox, which sends power to the front wheels. The fuel efficiency of the car stands at 22.7kmpl. However, unlike the Kwid, the redi-GO neither has the bigger 1.0-litre engine nor an automatic transmission.
Olympic bronze medalist and Datsun's brand ambassador, Sakshi Malik, became the first redi-GO owner to get the care package for her car. The car's high seating position, compact dimensions and healthy ground clearance make it extremely easy to drive around town and a great alternative for first-time car buyers.
