Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza gets a style upgrade!
Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is only offered with a 1.3-litre diesel engine that puts out 90PS of power and 200Nm of torque.
Maruti Suzuki has launched a special edition variant of its popular sub-compact SUV, the Vitara Brezza. Christened the Sports Limited Edition, this special edition variant is priced Rs 29,990 over the variant of your choice. The updates, which are mainly in the form of cosmetics, include body graphics, a leather steering wheel cover, chrome front grille garnish, twin-colour door sill guards, side skid plate and ‘Yellow Muscle Finish’ seat covers.
The launch of the Hyundai Venue with an introductory price of just Rs 6.5 lakh seems to have prompted others present in the cut-throat sub-4 metre SUV segment to update their offerings with more features in a bid to stem a possible decline in sales. Apart from Maruti Suzuki, Ford is set to launch a special ‘Thunder’ edition of the EcoSport in the coming weeks. Like the Brezza, the Thunder package is expected to be available on all variants and powertrain options.
While the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is only offered with a 1.3-litre diesel engine that puts out 90PS of power and 200Nm of torque, the Venue is offered with three engine options - a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol, a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol and a 1.4-litre turbo-diesel. While the diesel Venue churns out the same amount of power as the Maruti, it produces 20Nm of additional torque.
If you are looking for a two-pedal setup with the diesel engine, then your choice is limited to the Vitara Brezza and its AMT gearbox as the Hyundai Venue diesel is only offered with a 6-speed manual for now. Also, while Maruti Suzuki has decided to discontinue its diesel models once BS6 norms take effect, Hyundai has said that it will continue to offer oil burners with various mechanical and software updates to meet the new emission regulations.
