Baleno RS is anticipated to compete against the likes of the VW Polo GT TSI and Abarth Punto.

Maruti Suzuki is required to present the Baleno RS in India soon. In front of the official dispatch, the specification sheet of the car has surfaced, uncovering a couple points of interest.

This leaked spec sheet confirms that the performance oriented Baleno RS will be powered by a 1.0-litre (998cc), 3-cylinder, BoosterJet engine, which will develop 100bhp @ 5,500rpm and 150Nm of torque @ 1,700-4,500rpm. This power output is 10bhp short of the speculated figure of 110bhp.

Thus, Maruti appears to have detuned the engine for Indian conditions. The spec sheet also confirms that the Baleno RS will be coming with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The leaked images further reveal that the car will have disc brakes all round. Maruti is also likely to tweak the suspension of the car to handle the increased power output. According to the spec sheet, the Baleno RS has 114mm of ground clearance (laden).

Once disclosed, the Baleno RS is anticipated to compete against the likes of the VW Polo GT TSI and Abarth Punto.
