JSW Steel's crude steel output in April-June grows

JSW Energy has diversified businesses in carbon steel, power, mining, industrial gases, port facilities, cement and information technology sectors.

New Delhi: JSW Steel has registered a marginal growth of 1 per cent in crude steel production at 3.91 million tonnes during April-June of this fiscal.

The output was 3.87 mt in the year-ago quarter, the steel major said in a statement.

Flat-rolled products also registered a rise of 1 per cent to 2.76 mt as against 2.74 mt during the same quarter a year ago.

However, there was a fall of 2 per cent in the firm's long-rolled products at 0.83 mt compared to 0.85 mt during the April-June quarter in 2016-17.

Part of the diversified JSW Group, JSW Steel is the leading integrated steel company in India with an installed capacity of 18 mtpa.

 Its Vijayanagar plant is one of the largest single location steel producing facilities in the country with a capacity of 12 mtpa.
