Jindal Stainless posts 50 per cent surge in Q1 net profit

Total income of the stainless steel maker also rose to Rs 2,438.27 crore.

Jindal Stainless on Monday reported 50.47 per cent jump in its standalone net profit to Rs 74.38 crore in Q1 of 2017-18.

New Delhi: Jindal Stainless (Hisar) on Monday reported 50.47 per cent jump in its standalone net profit to Rs 74.38 crore during the first quarter ended June 30.

The company's net profit stood at Rs 49.43 crore in the April-June quarter of the last fiscal.

Total income of the stainless steel maker also rose to Rs 2,438.27 crore from Rs 1,653.18 crore during the same quarter of the preceding fiscal, it said in a BSE filing.

Its total expenses in the quarter during the said period were at Rs 2,327.32 crore as against Rs 1,574.07 crore in the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal.

Shares of the company were trading down 4.17 per cent at Rs 163.15 apiece on the BSE.
