Flipkart offers up to 80 pc discount in latest sales
Flipkart's discounted sales offer comes day after Amazon announced Prime Day Sales.
Mumbai: India's e-commerce giant Flipkart has launched a mother of all online sales with a discount offer of up to 80 per cent on electronic, consumer and other goods. The leading e-commerce player has shown interest in buying troubles counterpart Snapdeal. Fresh reports said Flipkart will bid with a revised offer price of $1 billion to buy Snapdeal.
Flipkart's latest offering comes only a day after Amazon India launching Amazon Prime Day sale for the first time in the country. "In addition to exclusive smartphone launches, Flipkart is offering heavy cuts across product categories on a range of brands including Adidas, Fossil, Hidesign, Sony and Samsung, among others," a report on The Economic Times said.
The report added that buyers using credit and debit cards of HDFC Bank will be entitled to get extra 10 per cent off on select deals. They could also win 15 per cent cashback by using mobile payment platform PhonePe which is Flipkart's own UPI-based payment app.
'Women's Only Wednesdays' was among top offers today under which Flipkart offered a discount of up to 70 per cent on sarees, ladies footwear, handbags and lingerie. "Entire sets of jewellery under Rs 800 and valuable deals on various beauty and wellness products are other great buys," the ET report added.
Apart from that Flipkart is offering a discount of up to 70 per cent on its own private fashion label Divastri. The fashion arm was started less than a month ago and since then it has been tapping into mounting demands for women's ethnic wear.
Apparel for men, watches and sunglasses are being out up for sale with a discount of 80 per cent across different brand ranges including Balckberrys, Lee, Numero Uno, Wills Lifestyle and Provogue, the report said.
