Jio crosses 100 million customer mark: Ambani
Jio users consumed more than 100 crore GB data per month on Jio network since its launch in Sept 2016.
Mumbai: Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani on Tuesday said that Reliance Jio has reached its target of 100 million customers since its launch in September 2016.
“Within only 170 days on an average Reliance Jio enlisted seven customers every single second every day,” Amabni said.
According to Ambani, Jio users consumed more than 100 crore GB data per month on Jio network. "That amounts to more than 3.3 crore GB per day, making India number 1 country in mobile data usage," he said.
“That's more than 3.3 crore GB a day,” Amani said. Jio has more than double the number of 4G base stations when compared to all the other Indian operators put together, he added.
Jio has started a Aadhaar-based process for Mobile Number Portability which according to Ambani has become "a simple and fast process". He also announced that on all of Jio's tariff plans, all domestic voice calls to any network will always remain free.
