HCL Q2 net profit leaps 9.5 per cent on software services sector

Analysts on average expected the company to post a profit of Rs 21.59 billion, Thomson Reuters data showed.

HCL Technologies scrip, after a weak opening, further dropped 5 per cent to Rs 1,074.45 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

Mumbai: HCL Technologies Ltd, India’s fourth-largest software services exporter, posted a 9.5 per cent rise in second-quarter net profit, helped by higher revenue from its software services sector.

Net profit attributable to shareholders rose to Rs 22.07 billion ($339.12 million) in the three months ended September 30, from Rs 20.15 billion in the same period a year earlier, HCL Technologies said on Wednesday. 

Analysts on average expected the company to post a profit of Rs 21.59 billion, Thomson Reuters data showed.

Revenue from operations rose 8 per cent to Rs 124.33 billion.

The company maintained its full-year revenue guidance for a growth between 10.5 per cent and 12.5 per cent in constant currency terms.
