Netflix vs Hotstar vs Amazon Prime Video: Prices, plans

For Hotstar users company offer two types of membership plans: Hotstar Premium and Hotstar VIP. Hotstar Premium has two subscription options, priced at Rs 299 per month and Rs 999 per year. Users who had subscribed for these two plans can access all of the OTT platforms content such as latest American shows, Hollywood movies etc.

The Hotstar Premium annual subscription plan is more affordable than Netflix, whereas the Hotstar Premium Rs 299 monthly membership option costs more than Netflix.

Hotstar VIP is priced at Rs 365 annually, which does not include International shows and Hollywood flicks; you can only stream on a single screen at a time with this account.

Amazon Prime Video provides users with premium video content such as original shows, movies, TV series and more. Prime Video has two subscription plans of Rs 129 per month and Rs 999 yearly plan.

The Netflix launched Rs 199 plan for Indian users, and interested users can subscribe from the Netflix website. Note that the mobile-only plan will support only one screen compared to the standard Netflix subscription, and it will support SD (Standard Definition) streaming.

The HD and Ultra-HD viewing are accessible on Netflix on monthly membership plans of Rs 649 and Rs 749. Under its Rs 499 plan, Netflix offers users content in standard definition only. The Standard Rs 649 plan offers HD resolution streaming and the Rs 799 plan offers users content at a maximum of 4K Ultra HD resolution.

Hotstar offers the highest video quality full-HD at 1080p resolution. On other hand, Amazon Prime Video also supports 4K Ultra-HD content without any extra cost and is available on three screens at a time.

In spite of the fact that the streaming service providers offer content totally different resolutions, the streaming rate will depend on the web connection in your house and the resolution of the gadget on which you are streaming.
