BSDU- Hero MotoCorp to assist trainees in two-wheeler technologies

Bhartiya Skill Development University is known for skilling youth by adopting and modifying its curriculum based on industry requirement. Bhartiya Skill Development University (BSDU) joined hands with Hero Moto Corp Ltd. to open Centre of Excellence in skill based training education on 2 wheelers.

Dr. (Brig) Surjit Singh Pabla, Pro Chancellor, BSDU said, “The objective of the MoU is to impart training to the students in the emerging area of two-wheelers by setting up a Centre of Excellence in the University premises. As a part of MoU, Hero MotoCorp will facilitate training of trainers, students in the field of two-wheeler technologies, and will also assist internships and placements of B.Voc studentsfrom the School of Automotive Skills.”

The Centre of Excellence has been inaugurated byMr. Vijay Sethi, Chief Information Officer, Head Corporate Social Responsibility and Chief Human Resource Officer, Hero MotoCorp in presence of Dr. (Brig.) Surjit Singh Pabla, Pro Chancellor, BSDU,Prof. Achintya Chaudhury, Vice Chancellor, BSDU, Col. Sanjay Gangwar, Principal, School of Automotive Skills, BSDU and dignitaries guest along with official of BSDU.

Vijay Sethi, Head CSR, Hero MotoCorp said “Our partnership with a reputed University such as BSDU will surely encourage more and more education institutions to implement experiential learning. We feel there is a need to have trained and skilled manpower and resources that come well trained on the job. A model that empowers an individual to be hand-on in the industry alongwith experience in managing operations would just be a boon for any organisation and we thank BSDU to offer such talent to the industry. We shall be offering apprenticeship program to the students at the Hero MotoCorp Center of Excellence at BSDU, where they would be exposed to on-the-job training making them more acceptable in the industry.”

Col. Sanjay Gangwar, Vetren, Principal, School of Automotive, BSDU said “India is a huge market and there comes a requirement of skilled people who can be deployed in the service & maintenance department in various industries or with proficiency, they can start their own entrepreneurial venture. Now, with this new world-class Centre of Excellence, where students will have access to the best machines with Hero MotoCorp, we aspire to provide students training with quality apprenticeship programs with world’s leading two-wheeler manufacturer.”

Bhartiya Skill Development University already has Centre of Excellence Daikin Air-conditioning India Private Ltd. for HVAC & R Training with fully equipped air-conditioning labs that has separate machines for students to learn different processes for air conditioning like vapour absorption, cooling towers, central air-conditioning machine, cold storage, multi-evaporator refrigeration, recirculation air conditioning, etc.
