Dip in GST revenues comes despite GST Network reassuring tarders there will be no more site crashes.
Mumbai: The government on Tuesday released the numbers on total tax collections under the Goods and Services Tax regime for the month of August. GST was rollout on July 1, 2017. According to the data revealed, the total GST collections fell from Rs 94,063 crore in July to Rs 90,669 crore in August.
It means a significant drop of Rs 4,000 crore. Here is a complete breakup of the taxes collected under Central GST, State GST, Integrated GST and Compensation Cess. Interestingly, the drop in GST collection figures comes in the backdrop of government forming a panel to monitor working of GST Network.
