Petrol prices cut for 13 days in a row, diesel prices come down

Oil firms cutting rates by 19-21 paise per litre in case of petrol, diesel prices were cut by 15-16 paise per litre.

New Delhi: The trend of miniscule reduction in petrol and diesel prices continued for  thirteen consecutive days on Monday with oil firms cutting rates by 19-21 paise per litre in case of petrol, diesel prices were cut by 15-16 paise per litre.

Petrol in Delhi now costs Rs 76.58 a litre, down from Rs 78.35, according to a price notification issued by state-owned oil firms.

Diesel rates have been cut to Rs 67.95 per litre from Rs 69.25 in Delhi.

Petrol prices on Monday were at Rs 76.58, Rs 79.25 a litre, Rs 84.41 a litre and Rs 79.48 per litre in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai respectively.

Diesel prices on Monday cost at Rs 67.95 a litre in Delhi, Rs 70.5 a litre in Kolkata, Rs 72.35 a litre in Mumbai and Rs 71.73 a litre in Chennai.

Prices vary from state-to-state depending on local sales tax or VAT. Delhi has the cheapest price among all metros and most state capitals.
