Atlas Copco sees push from infrastructure
The sector is currently dominated by largely local unorganised players and companies from China and South Korea.
Hyderabad: With the government focusing on infrastructure and revival in mining and real estate, industrial equipment maker Atlas Copco expects a higher growth in construction and industrial equipment market in the country.
“We see a very positive scenario for infrastructure segment with extra investment lined in for all areas of core infrastructure such as roads, metro rail, expressway, airports and expansion on existing highways,” said Nitin Lall, general manager, Power Technique Customer Center, Atlas Copco (India).
He added that this will have a positive spill-over effect on the industrial equipment sector and the company, which is market leader in portable air compressors and light towers. It has manufacturing plant at Chakan, Pune.
The sector is currently dominated by largely local unorganised players and companies from China and South Korea. Mr Lall, however, feels that his company is positioned favourably due to its advanced technologies. “Our latest range of electric and dual pressure compressors demonstrates our ground-breaking technological expertise,” he said.
