Department of Posts extends AADHAAR enrolment facility in Tamil Nadu

The RBI on Saturday said linking of Aadhaar with bank accounts is mandated under the Prevention of Money-laundering (Maintenance of Records) Second Amendment Rules, 2017.
As per rules, if existing account holders do not submit Aadhaar by March 31, 2018, their accounts will cease to be operational.

Chennai: Department of Posts on Friday said AADHAAR enrolment facility has been extended to 1,434 post offices in Tamil Nadu.

Department of Posts in collaboration with UIDAI launched Aadhaar enrolment facility in 70 post offices across Tamil Nadu.

This facility will be further extended to 1,434 more post offices in a phased manner, a PIB release said.

The 70 post offices in Tamil Nadu circle had made 14,756 transactions till date, it said.
