Gold futures up Rs 40 on global cues
Gold is trading at Rs 29,374 per 10 grams in futures trade as speculators created fresh positions.

New Delhi: Gold prices rose by Rs 40 to Rs 29,374 per 10 grams in futures trade on Thursday as speculators created fresh positions, taking positive cues from global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in February was trading up Rs 40, or 0.14 per cent, to Rs 29,374 per 10 grams in a trade volume of 111 lots.
The metal for delivery in December moved up Rs 34, or 0.12 per cent, to Rs 29,257 per 10 grams in a turnover of 361 lots.
Market analysts said that the rise in precious metal at the global market mainly influenced gold prices at futures trade here.
Meanwhile, gold edged up 0.01 per cent to USD 1,283.50 an ounce in Singapore on Thursday.
