Set to implement GST soon: Arun Jaitley

The country would soon be set to implement a common Goods and Services Tax (GST) pan India in the coming year, finance minister Arun Jaitley said on Monday.

The country would soon be set to implement a common Goods and Services Tax (GST) pan India in the coming year, finance minister Arun Jaitley said on Monday.

Over the three day Vibrant Gujarat summit, the minister said , “I see the economy growing much faster in months to come. In order to attract investment, direction must be clear, pace of moving in that direction must be reasonably quick.”

Launching a scathing attack on those who criticised government’s decision to take the ordinance route in Parliament, Mr Jaitley said, “Should we have waited till the opposition let Rajya Sabha function Policy decisions cannot wait for 10 years to be taken.”

“The government must always be led by a leader of stature. PM must be decisive, willing to face consequences of his decisions,” he said
