Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala, who successfully treated Mohammad Shami for his knee injury, said the hamstring injury sustained by the Bengal pacer could well see him out of action for “at least three months.”

“If it is Grade-I hamstring injury, he can be cured in 2-3 weeks time, but if it is Grade-II or Grade-III, Shami will be out again for at least three months,” Dinshaw said. Going by Dinshaw’s words and with the BCCI confirming that Shami has a Grade II injury, the participation of the 25-year-old seamer in the upcoming World T20 starting March 8 seems to be in jeopardy. It is learnt that the pacer will return to NCA on Sunday.
