The charred bodies of three men were found on a terrace room of Sewa Nagar Railway Colony building in South Delhi’s Lodhi Colony on Thursday. According to the police, the victims, identified as Ganesh, Gaurav and Sandeep, are aged between 21 and 23 years. While Gaurav was from Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh, the other two were of Nepalese origin. The room built on the terrace was allegedly been given on rent to Sandeep by a railway official.

A senior police official said the trio used to meet quite often for drinks at the room. “On Thursday morning, Ganesh’s wife Deepa reached Sandeep’s residence looking for him as he was missing since March 29. When she reached the room and opened it, she saw the three burnt bodies.” Investigations reveal that two of them had fallen asleep after getting intoxicated while one lighted a beedi, but in an inebriated state he could not understand that he had accidentally lit some clothes and synthetic materials on fire.
