4th list: Colleges to decide tomorrow

Scores of students queued up in various Delhi University colleges on Monday to grab vacant seats left in various courses in top colleges under the third cut-off list, which was announced by the varsity on Sunday evening.

Sources in the varsity indicate that it is unlikely that some top colleges will release a fourth cut-off list as the seats in the majority of courses might get filled in the third cut-off itself. However, the colleges will be able to take a decision on the fourth cut-off list the admissions under the third cut-off list end on Wednesday.

SRCC, which confirmed a total of 544 admissions to its B.Com. till now, has 501 total seats for the same with about 100 supernumerary seats. Of these 100 seats, about 25 seats are for the defence quota. SRCC has declared the third cut-off list for both B.Com. (Hons) and B.A. (Hons) economics at 97.25 per cent showing a marginal drop of 0.25 and 0.50 per cent, respectively.

Hindu College confirmed admissions for about 75 students on the first day of the admissions under the third cut-off list while reaching a total of 760 students for all courses till now. Admissions to most of the courses, including B.A. programme, sociology, botany, and philosophy have already been closed in the college.

At Hansraj College, admissions are still open for most courses like English, economics, history and B.Com (Hons).

Colleges like Miranda and Gargi have closed admissions to science courses, including botany, chemistry and B.Sc. life sciences.

However, seats in off-campus colleges seem to be filling up faster as compared to the top colleges this year. Deshbandhu College has closed admissions to most courses, barring Sanskrit (Hons), political science and history.

Similarly, Mata Sundri College for Women has closed admissions to all its arts courses barring psychology, Sanskrit and B.A. (Pass).

Meanwhile, all the colleges have also begun admissions under the sports quota and are currently holding ECA trials.
