AAP MLA Bidlan’s dad booked for gangrape

A 24-year-old woman has alleged that she was gangraped by two Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders on the pretext of offering her party tickets for municipal elections.

A 24-year-old woman has alleged that she was gangraped by two Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders on the pretext of offering her party tickets for municipal elections. The accused has been identified as Ram Pratap and Bhupendra.

Bhupendra is the father of AAP MLA, ex-minister and Arvind Kejriwal’s close aide Rakhi Bidlan. Meanwhile, Ram Pratap is the district treasurer of the party.

An FIR based on the complaint of the women was registered in South Rohini police station against AAP leaders Ram Pratap and Bhupendra.

A case has been registered against the leaders under Sections 376 D (gang rape), 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation if threat be the cause of deathor grevious hurt). No arrests have been made in the case so far, said the police. The complainant, who is a widow, had approached the police on Sunday and filed a complaint against the two leaders alleging that she was gangraped on the pretext of offering party tickets.

In her complaint, the woman had alleged that a few months back, she came in contact with Ram Pratap, who maintained a cordial relationship with her over the phone and also promised her a party ticket. After 4-5 months, he had made his intentions clear.

She further alleged that she was pressurised to have a relationship with Bhupinder.
