Welcoming the announcement of Delhi Assembly elections, the BJP on Monday claimed that the party is fully prepared for February 7 Delhi assembly polls. Banking on the Modi wave and buoyed by the BJP’s victory in the Delhi Cantonment Board elections, the Delhi BJP expressed confidence to return in power in national capital after a gap of 16 years. Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay said that fully geared up for the coming Assembly polls and it will contested under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah.
Delhi BJP in-charge and Rajya Sabha member Prabhat Jha told this newspaper that the party is mentally and strategically prepared for the Assembly polls. The party will contest the polls on developmental agenda of Mr Modi.
“Prime Minister Modi is our leader and he will lead us in the Delhi Assembly polls to be held next months. Also Mr Shah’s expertise in drawing strategy for electoral victory will ensure BJP’s victory in Delhi Assembly polls,” added Mr Jha.
Welcoming the announcement of Assembly polls date, Mr Upadhyay said that the declaration of the dates of elections is a slap on the face of the party which used to say that BJP wants to delay the Assembly elections. “The BJP is a party that believes in democratic values and respects the Constitution of the country. Soon the candidates will be selected and other formalities will be completed. The BJP will get absolute majority this time,” he added.

“The results of Delhi Cantonment are certainly very encouraging for us and Delhi is not untouched by the wave across the country and there will be good results in favour of the BJP,” Mr Upadhyay said.
In last Assembly pollsin December 2013, the BJP had bagged 31 seats in addition to one by its ally SAD, falling short of a simple majority in the 70-member House. AAP had won in 28 seats, followed by eight of Congress.
