Cutoff relaxation for girls in 24 colleges
Twenty-four Delhi University colleges will provide one per cent relaxation to girls during the undergraduate admission procedure.
Twenty-four Delhi University colleges will provide one per cent relaxation to girls during the undergraduate admission procedure. The DU admissions committee has decided that the colleges, which had sought exemption for girls, would be provided with one per cent concession. The proposal has been sent to the DU vice-chancellor, Prof. Yogesh Tyagi, for approval. The 24 colleges include Maharaja Agrasen College, Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, Motilal Nehru Evening College, PGDAV College, Ramjas College, Ramanujan College, Aryabhata College, Shivaji College and Venkateshwara College.
Most of the colleges had asked for more relaxation, but the admissions committee had refused to give more than one per cent concession. “The admissions committee has decided to provide one per cent relaxation for girls of those collges which had. However, the university has decided that from next year, the colleges who want concession for girl students would have to give a proposal of justification and get it approved,” said Prof. A.N. Dube, a member of the admissions committee.
