Nearly after a month after the Delhi University began the new academic session, varsity officials said several seats were still vacant in some colleges as students have withdrawn their candidature from one college to get admission to another of their choice.
In order to fill up the remaining seats, the varsity on Wednesday released a detailed schedule for the third phase of the admission process. The varsity will now declare three more cut-off lists.
“A number of seats are still available in some colleges for different courses and categories. This has happened primarily due to withdrawal of candidature by some candidates from one college and opting for another. Maximum seats are lying vacant in science stream as the students from this background were waiting for NEET results. As the results are out, they have an option to shift to medical colleges,” DU dean of students’ welfare J.M. Khurana said.
Document verification and approval of admissions in the first cut-off list of the third phase will continue till August 22, the notification of the next cut-off list will be made public on August 24 and the students will have to get documents verified and confirm their admissions by August 26.
The final cut-off list will be declared on August 29 with the process of document verification and approval of admissions getting over by August 30.
