Students of Delhi University’s Kalindi College welcomed the administration’s decision to ban the sale of plastic water bottles in the college. The college administration has also decided to use earthen pots for storing water.

Kalindi College, located in East Patel Nagar, is the first girls college in the Delhi University to launch this initiative.

“I am really proud that my college showed such a pronounced effort in concern with environment. Since we know the irrevocable effects of plastics on the nature, this instructive step taken by the authorities may encourage youth. I hope this initiative grows pervasively in all the other colleges,” Anshul Saroya, a journalism student, said.

“I think it is an important initiative which should be implemented everywhere. It would eradicate the hazards that plastic bags bring with them. Although it is difficult for us to adjust with the new ban, it would be definitely a worth to the adjustment,” another first year student, Ananya, said.

“I think it is a great initiative to ban plastic. Since we, the youth, are leaders of tomorrow, it’s our responsibility to take such steps to make this world a better place,” a political science student.
