Emergency at IGI after snag in Jet aircraft
An emergency was declared at the IGI Airport for a Jet flight arriving from Amritsar on Monday.
An emergency was declared at the IGI Airport for a Jet flight arriving from Amritsar on Monday. The safety measures were taken after “some part of tyre” of the said flight was seen at the Amritsar airport runway.
“On Monday, at about 11.25 am, full emergency was declared for a Jet Air-ways (9W-2662) flight which was arriving from Amrits-ar along with 140 passengers as some parts of tyre of the said aircraft was no-ticed on the runway at Am-ritsar Airport. The flight safely landed at about 11.35 am on runway 11/29 of the IGI Airport. Accordingly, emergency was terminated at about 11.45,” said airport sources.
According to the sources, the Amritsar Airport officials informed the Delhi air traffic control (ATC) following which full emergency conditions were declared at the airport. The Delhi ATC declared local stand-by for the flight, which landed safely at the runway number 29.
“Jet Airways flight 9W 2662 from Amritsar to Delhi on Monday carried out a landing with added precautionary measures due to technical reasons. The flight with 133 passengers and 7 crew members landed safely. Safety of our guests is of paramount importance at Jet Airways and any inconvenience caused is regretted,” said a Jet Airways spokesperson.
