In a big relief to candidates seeking admission to Delhi University’s School of Open Learning (SOL), the institution will be providing 10 helpline numbers. In addition, the administration will also answer queries through emails from this year.
The decision to launch the online registration process for the admissions would get a final call after the SOL administration projects its presentation to the Distance Education Board (DEB).
“On June 7, SOL will give a presentation to the Distance Education Board after which a formal approval for launching the online registration proc-ess will be taken,” SOL director C.S. Dubey said.
The school offers learning through the distance education mode, which is a viable alternative for students who need a flexible medium of instruction to attain higher education and vocational skills.
Following the clearance from the board, the institution is expected to begin the admission process between June 10 and June 15.
Meanwhile, SOL students expressed their displeasure over receiving their admit cards just three days before the exams. However, SOL’s alleged apathetic attitude towards the students has become a cause of huge distress for students who till now are unsure about appearing for the examinations.
“Our exams are to begin from June 6 and we have been issued admit cards just three days before. The SOL administration has not even clarified our grievances regarding syllabus which remains unclear to a majority,” a student said.
