Delhi University Teacher Association (DUTA) on Thursday decided to resume evaluation of undergraduate examinations for the third year students from Friday. However, the teachers will continue to boycott evaluation for first and second year students.

The decision was taken in a general body meeting of Duta in view of the University Grants Commission (UGC) decision to restore the working hours of the teachers.

“The teachers have agreed to resume the evaluation for third year students from Friday. However, they will continue to boycott the evaluation for first and second year students. They are demanding the complete roll back of the UGC notification. If they completely end the boycott everything will go in vain,” said DU admission committee and academic council member Nachiketa Singh.

The DU admissions committee has extended the registration by three more days till June 22. “The decision was taken because OBC students were unable to process income certificate on website. However, the first cut-off list will be released on June 30,” added Mr Singh. The committee made it mandatory for St. Stephen’s and Jesus and Mary Colleges to follow the centralised process of sports and ECA admissions.
