Two juveniles rape six-year-old girl, arrested

Two minor girls were sexual assaulted in two separate cases in the city on Saturday.

The first case was reported with a six-year-old girl, who was allegedly raped by two juveniles. Two minor boys have been apprehended for an alleged sexual assault on the six-year-old girl in northwest Delhi’s Swaroop Nagar on Saturday, the police said. The victim as well as both the juveniles in conflict with law stay on different floors of the same building. The juveniles are aged 13 and 12, the police added.

Confirming the incident, a police officer said the alleged incident took place more than a week ago, but it was on Saturday that the mother of the victim approached the police.

“The girl shared her ordeal and told us that the boys had picked her up when she was playing in the park. After luring her with sweets outside the building where they all live, they took her to a secluded spot where they sexually assaulted her. They then brought her back and left her outside their house. Before moving to their respective homes, they threatened the girl of dire consequences if she shared her ordeal with anyone,” said the officer.

Fearing that they may harm her again, the girl initially did not narrate her ordeal to anyone but in due course, she started complaining of continuous pain in her private parts. The family took her to a doctor for a checkup. During the medical examination, the doctor found something suspicious and later it was confirmed that the child was raped.

The woman brought the daughter to the Swaroop Nagar police station where the girl provided her statement and a case under the relevant provisions of Pocso Act was registered.

The girl was provided counselling by an NGO following the registration of the case. Subsequently, both the boys were apprehended, the officer added.

In another cases, a 4-year-old pre-nursery student has allegedly been molested by a school employee in the Vikaspuri area.

However, the girl could not identify anybody from Friday’s incident, prompting the police to question all male staffers of the school. Her parents took her to a private hospital and lodged an FIR after the medical examination confirmed sexual assault on Saturday evening.

The incident took place on Friday. When the girl reached home after school, she narrated the ordeal to her mother.

A case of molestation under IPC Section 354 and Pocso Act was registered at the Vikaspuri police station. The matter is being probed.
