Delhi Police on Saturday questioned three persons, including two former-servicemen, in the suicide case of retired Subedar Ram Kishan Grewal, whose death sparked a political row in the capital.

“Rajkumar is a social activist while Prithvi and Jagdish are ex-servicemen. They have been called for questioning at Crime Branch office. We have questioned them to enquire about the exact sequence of events to ascertain the facts,” said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Ravindra Yadav.

He further added that they will be called again for questioning if needed.

They all hail from a village in Haryana’s Bhiwani district and were in regular touch with Grewal for the past several months, police said.

Meanwhile, teams are verifying the authenticity of the suicide note left behind by Grewal and are examining the toxicology report.

The Crime Branch team led by DCP(Crime) Bhisham Singh is conducting inquest proceedings in the matter.

Grewal, along with three of his companions, had come to the city apparently to submit a memorandum to the defence ministry over the issue of OROP.

The 70-year-old former-serviceman had consumed poison in the lawns behind Jawahar Bhavan, which houses some offices of the ministry of external affairs, on November 1. He was rushed to RML Hospital where he died later.
