A bag lying unattended at the Janpath Metro station created panic among the commuters on Wednesday afternoon. The CISF bomb disposal team and dog squad declared the bag clean after a scan of the bag.
Sources said that on Wednesday afternoon at around 12.35 pm, a passenger informed a CISF personal at the Janpath Metro station that an unattended bag was lying near gate number 3. When the bag’s owner could not be traced, the bomb disposal and detection team and dog squad were called in.
Bomb Detection and Disposal Solution (BDDS) team and dog squad team reached the location. Both the team checked the bag and declared it clean. On manual checking, some old clothes and personal belongings were found inside the bag.
Meanwhile, the owner of the bag, Rajuram, a resident of Rajasthan, reached the spot and claimed the bag. He apologised for the incident.
Earlier on August 13, a bag lying unattended at the Kohat Enclave Metro station on the Red Line had created panic among commuters. The CISF bomb disposal team and dog squad had declared the bag clean after an hour-long scan.
