SRK, Big B pay touching tribute to Sridevi on Twitter after seeing her for last time
The stars took to social media after the legendary actress was cremated with state honours in Mumbai on Wednesday.
Mumbai: After a torturous wait for Sridevi’s mortal remains to return to the country following her death on Saturday, the actress was cremated in Mumbai with state honours on Wednesday.
Amid the unprecedented number of fans, said to be more than 30,000, thronging to the crematorium, and her residence, Bollywood stars also met the actress for the last time, some who paid their last respects at Celebration Sports Club, Andheri and some who were present at the Vile Parle crematorium.
Stars could not cope up with the grief about her passing and took to social media to express their feelings after seeing Sridevi for the last time.
Hema Malini beautifully described the actress, looking beautiful in a red saree and lauding her aura and magic and praised the arrangements at the venue where her mortal remains were kept for the last time.
Paid my last respects to Sridevi. The entire industry was there grieving, some on the verge of breakdown. Such was her aura & magic in films. She lay there, beautiful in a red saree, serene in death & totally at peace. 😢

Arrangements were so well made that the whole atmosphere was tranquil, everything was smooth & executed with finesse - befitting the departed soul. Goodbye dear friend!ðŸ™

Sushmita Sen was also consumed by emotions as she paid her last respects to Sridevi who inspired her 14-year-old self. She praised the actress’ strength in the way her daughters Janhvi and Khushi acknowledged everyone gracefully despite their humongous grief.
Amitabh Bachchan, who has worked with the actress in several films, was among the last to arrive at the crematorium.
Like his ‘worry’, termed as 'premonition' by some, just before the news of her death, and his post asking to ‘get back to love’ allegedly slamming the media for its reporting, he again posted a lovely poem from Kaifi Azmi recited to him by Javed Akhtar at the funeral.

"रहने को सदा देहर में आता नहीं कोई
तà¥à¤® जैसे à¤-ये à¤à¤¸à¥‡ à¤à¥€ जाता नहीं कोई"~ कैफ़ि आज़मी.
देहर - means .. the world .
Javed Akhtar narrated this sher to me at funeral of Sridevi .. said it was written at time of Guru Dutt demise ; but so appropriate for today ..
Shah Rukh Khan was present when the actress was lit at the pyre and posted a lovely tribute without naming the actress. He spoke about feeling grateful for the love and beauty of a life that made his life prettier and that it was easier to give the comfort of appreciation and gratitude towards it even in death.
How can one not just feel love & beauty & be grateful for a life that became a part of yours in some small way by making it prettier....isn’t it just easier to feel love & give towards that life, even in death...the comfort of appreciation and gratitude.

And there were others like Varun Dhawan and Katrina Kaif who asked fans and the media to respect the grieving family’s privacy in the difficult time.
The fact is hard to digest and there’s no way to deny that Sridevi has left the world, only to live in the hearts of her millions of fans across the globe.
