Rani Mukerji and Shah Rukh Khan to reunite for Salute?
After working in movies like Paheli and Hey Ram, it is believed that the two actors will reunite for the Rakesh Sharma biopic.
If rumour mills are to be believed, after Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Bhumi Pednekar, Hichki actress Rani Mukerji will star opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Salute.
Though SRK has not made any official statement till date about him being in the film, producer Siddharth Roy Kapur did make a statement on SRK coming on board for the film.
“We should be starting it quite soon. It’s all on track but I will prefer to make an official announcement,” was all Kapur had to say when asked about the film going on the floor.
And now, as we await the official announcement, a trade bird tells us that Rani, who has preferred to do a lot of heroine-oriented films like Mardaani and Hichki, is on board.
Apparently, Rani and SRK bonded a lot on the sets of Dus Ka Dum and discussed the possibilities of a reunion that could happen with Salute.
“Rani’s name has been considered for the heroine and she is being spoken to at the moment. Her date calendar is rather easy as she has not announced any film like most other actresses and hence she could be the right choice for the role considering the kind of camaraderie she and Shah Rukh have had over the years. While Rani has done a few cameos for Shah Rukh in the recent past, she was last seen with him in Veer Zaara (2004) and Chalte Chalte (2003),” says the source.
Will Rani make a comeback with one of her favourite co-stars? Well, that remains to be seen.
