Aditi Rao Hydari hates the term catfight'
The actress believes that reports of fights on the sets take away from art.
Aditi Rao Hydari is quite relieved with the release of Padmaavat, but she has to quickly move on to other projects in the pipeline. The actress will be seen in Daasdev next, a movie by Sudhir Mishra.
However, the actress is irked at rumours of a ‘catfight’ with her co-star Richa Chadha on the sets of the movie. “It’s such a done-to-death thing,” she groans. “I oppose these terms like catfights because it curbs your artistic freedom.”
She adds, “Why should we be locked in stereotypical boxes? I feel really sad. It’s amazing to work with great actors. You don’t get anything by putting somebody else down. I feel it’s really sad.”
Despite this, Aditi cannot help revel in the success of Padmaavat. She says that while she’s had a great time working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, it can get challenging after a while.
“He’s a tough taskmaster, and really challenges you,” says Aditi. “With every take, he will add another layer to the movie. And so, it’s always a challenge. But it’s also amazing. His knowledge of art is so vast. The way he indulges with his actors is also amazing. He will give you time to get into the mould of the character. Then, he really pushes you and he will not settle for anything less. It’s also a learning experience.”
Besides Daasdev, the actress will also work with one of her favourite directors, Mani Ratnam again. However, Aditi prefers to keep mum about that project yet.
