No Singham 3 for Rohit Shetty

While there have been speculations over Singham 3 being made, especially after Rohit Shetty announced Simmba, the filmmaker denies a third part is going to be made. Simmba is being made with producer Karan Johar, and will star Ranveer Singh.

Speculations have also included word that Ajay Devgn, star of Singham, is upset that Rohit is making another cop drama, instead of taking his franchise ahead.

Interestingly, producer Jayantilala Gada was said to have taken the rights of the third part of the original Tamil film Singham called S3, and was to make it with Sunny Deol. This too gave birth to rumours of a collision between Rohit and Jayantilala. Rohit has, however, said that he had all the rights of the film, for all the franchise, in Hindi.

Says a trade source, “It was at this time that rumours appeared, saying Rohit could be looking to make a third part with Ajay. But the actor has a lot on his plate. Hence, Singham 3 is not on the anvil anytime soon.”

Rohit, on his part, hits back, “Even I didn’t know that Singham 3 was being made! I read on the Internet that Singham 3 was being pushed because I was making Simmba.”
