Alauddin Khilji first look: Ranveer is menacing and terrifying to the core

Mumbai: After the success of 'Bajirao Mastani' in 2015, much has been talked about Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next ambitious project, 'Padmavati', more so for achieving the casting coup of Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor.

The film which reunited his muse pair Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, who starred in his previous two directorials, 'Ram Leela' and 'Bajirao Mastani,' however shocked his fans when he revealed that Ranveer would in fact be playing the antagonist in the film.

The film, which stars Deepika Padukone as the eponymous queen, has Shahid Kapoor playing her better half as king Rana Rawal Ratan Singh.

Ranveer, au contraire, would be portraying Alauddin Khilji, an invading seracenic ruler, who takes a liking to the queen and decides to rule their kingdom to acquire her.

While the first looks of Deepika and Shahid took the internet by storm, Ranveer's was supposed to be revealed on Tuesday morning.

But reportedly due to a leak of his look, the actor shared his look on Twitter just before 2 am. 

And there's no doubt that his astonishingly menacing look will send fans into a frenzy, with the actor venturing into hitherto unchartered territory.

Ranveer is borderline terrifying as the ambitious ruler, with a liking for both the sexes.

The film, slated for a December 01 release, has Aditi Rao Hydari playing Ranveer's wife and Jim Sarbh his lover.
